Lead Pastor

David Welch
After growing up on a family farm in west Texas, Lead Pastor David Welch made his way to Texas Tech University. As a college student, he experienced a call to ministry – a call that would lead him to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and ultimately into church ministry. For over 20 years, Pastor David served in various staff roles both in Texas and Arkansas. Then, in 2001 Bear Creek called him as our Lead Pastor. From that time the church has continued to grow significantly. Pastor David feels a deep call to preaching the Word of God in a practical life-giving way. He has led us to a vision of being a gospel-centered, disciple making community.
