22 “Then they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be driven away into darkness.”

Isaiah 8:22 (NASB1995)

1 “But there will be no more gloom for her who was in anguish; in earlier times He treated the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali with contempt, but later on He shall make it glorious, by the way of the sea, on the other side of Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles.
2 The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.”

Isaiah 9:1-2 (NASB1995)

6 “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;”

Isaiah 9:6 (NASB1995)

The Idea:

The Arrival of This Child Brings Hope Into Any Darkness You Face

How the Baby Brings Hope

I. Who Are The People Walking in Darkness?

“Then they will look to the earth, and behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish; and they will be driven away into darkness.”

Isaiah 8:22

II. What Is The Light They See?

“The people who walk in darkness Will see a great light; Those who live in a dark land, The light will shine on them.”

Isaiah 9:2

III. Who Is The Source Of That Hope?

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;”

Isaiah 9:6

The Hope He Brings:

1. is for your life right now.

2. is for what the past has done to you.

3. is for your ultimate future
